No one’s holding their breath, but the promise to myself was one random idea every month.
So here’s the idea for the month of May – AvocadOdes!
I ♥ Avocadoes. I really, really do. So I bought a bunch of ’em. Wrote li’l odes on ’em. And then with the help of a few friends sneaked them back to the supermarket for others to find. Here’s the video… in the absence of a cinema and surround-sound, full-screen and volume-up should suffice.

A shout out to Carla Bruni for the music (I mentioned your name, so don’t sue me), Leonie, Rianne, Samantha and Sarah for helping me sneak the avos back onto the shelves, and the iPhone4 for enabling our secret-shooting-skills.

Everything has changed with advertising today. Nothing has changed with advertising today. And no one understands that paradox better than The Armless Corporate Robot. He prowls the corridors inspiring creativity, instilling confidence and handcrafting an ad agency that we might as well call Sterling, Cooper, Draper, Pryce & Robot. But he ain’t a sellout.

The Armless Corporate Robot (TACR) was born on a Wednesday afternoon, could have been a Thursday, in the work-filled depths of October 2009.
He represents everything I’ve become. But self-pity aside, TACR lived on the walls of my room at Saatchi & Saatchi, Amsterdam’s old office in Amstelveen. Elvis might’ve left that old building, but TACR didn’t. These are pics from back then.
Troubled by the aches and pains of corporatedom,
The Armless Corporate Robot trudges on with his pinstriped shirt, black tie and a pen that he can’t hold.

So far…
